2017 Annual Show
The Mad Hatter Chorus is putting on a show! It starts at 7:30 pm on Saturday April 1, 2017 at Western Connecticut State University’s Visual and Performing Arts Center, 43 Lake Avenue Extension in Danbury. This year’s show is called “A Grand Night for Singing,” featuring the music of Richard Rodgers.
Rodgers wrote 43 Broadway musicals and more than 900 songs. He won at least one of each of the following awards: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony, and Pulitzer. His greatest successes were in conjunction with lyricists Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein II. You will hear songs like You’ll Never Walk Alone, Climb Ev’ry Mountain, My Romance, and selections from South Pacific, State Fair and Oklahoma!
Our special guests this year will be the award-winning New England quartet, Timepiece. Of course, you can also hear Danbury’s own Mad Hatter Chorus as it begins its second half century of providing the best in a cappella singing to the Danbury area. Performing ensembles will range in size from chapter quartets, to the current chorus, to a competition chorus that includes members from the Danbury and Bridgeport chapters. The grand finale will include all the aforementioned performers plus our special guests. So many voices joining in uplifting music are sure to make it A Grand Night for Singing!
